Our little guy is four??? When did that happen?? We can't believe how fast these years have been! And Tessa is
definitely ready to be two in a couple of months!
Growth: Jonah is up to 32 pounds, 13 ounces per hospital measurements (more on this later). Nothing official on Tessa recently!
Sleep: Their schedules have been pretty much the same though Jonah has skipped a couple of naps since turning four. Overall though they have pretty much the same schedule of brushing teeth, going potty, reading books, and getting tucked in. Jonah has started branching out from watching TV when he gets up in the morning to playing games on either the computer or tablet which can be somewhat difficult as he occasionally needs help getting things going.

Silliness |
|
Hugs for sick little Jonah. Bless her heart. And her immune system. |
Eating: Both remain excellent eaters for the most part. We still take them grocery shopping weekly, though they're getting a little bit more difficult to wrangle at the store. Still, we find it important to involve them in understanding the source of their food. They really have been enjoying their popsicles; fortunately they sell them at Costco!

Shopping cart shenanigans. |

Enjoying a warm evening at Johnsons |
|
The kids pretty regularly have been playing at Mimi and Poppy's while Mommy and Daddy take a dance lesson on Monday nights. There is always a delicious dinner. Tess clearly loves the noodle, and her Poppy! |

Most posh picnic ever, Tess! |
|
She wanted to feed herself ice cream, which wasn't going well, so this was her reaction to being fed ice cream. |
|
Happier now. Also, note her self-proclaimed "shawby shirt." |
|
The boy delights in pressing coffee |

We are so thankful Columbus Commons Food Trucks have returned for the season!

Gee, I wonder what color it was. |
|
End of the year JCC picnic. It was a chilly one! |
|
Tessa has a best buddy: Knuffle Bunny. She sleeps with him and snuggles him.
This particular morning, she brought him down for breakfast and hand fed him. |
Personality: Jonah remains quite rambunctious around his friends at school and sometimes this boils over into his play with Tessa, but usually they get on great. He is usually super sweet and caring. Tessa still throws the occasional tantrum, still mostly with throwing herself on the floor and not getting up.
|
Poppy thought Tessa should get her picture taken in front of out weeping cherry in this, its first spring in our yard.
You're right, Poppy. Good call! |
|
Checking out the worms at the library as part of storytime. |
|
Usually Tessa comes with me to my client's house, but when they both get to come, they're so happy and it really goes quite well. |

|
They all played along. |
Books: Recent favorites include
Look, a Book!,
The Icky Sticky Frog, and
Sounds of the Seashore. Tessa has been doing a lot of
Animal Spots and Stripes. Also, the kids fell in love with the book Underwater Babies at the bookstore with Mimi, and so "they" gave it to Mommy for Mothers' Day.

Bedtime books with Daddy |
Play: Jonah got several new toys and games for his birthday that he really enjoys. He now has a whole slew of Octonauts toys to play with which he loves. He really enjoys board games and puzzles as well. Tessa plays with whatever Jonah is using and especially likes the Little People house.
|
Jonah got his first lego kits and was very successful and happy following the directions. |
|
How old does Tessa look here! |

Growing pretend coral |
Milestones: Jonah had his first trip to the emergency room this month. He had complained of some nonspecific abdominal pain for a couple of days, then before bed had a fever, then woke up at 3 AM with focal pain and a fever which bought him a trip to the ED. Several hours later he checked out OK. He had a couple of sick days at home but got better relatively quickly. He is becoming more independent in some things now that he's four as well. He will not infrequently get out a cup, put it in the water dispenser in the fridge, and fill it for himself. Tessa is a little chatterbox. She regularly speaks in 3-4 word sentences and her new record is a 7-word-long sentence! She repeats about anything we (mostly Jonah) ask her to say. She is doing very well with her potty training, fairly consistently asking to go when needed.
|
Jonah had never drawn a representation of any of us, and then one day he drew Daddy, with the rest of us to follow. |
Events: We've taken a couple of trips to Slate Run Historic Farm to see the farm and play. The kids have loved it!
A lot of birthday celebrations this month, including Jonah's fourth birthday party. We have so many pictures, they'll need their own post!
Ongoing fun at soccer and gymnastics classes and working out at the JCC!
